Mahama attends President Zuma’s inauguration

President John Dramani Mahama on Friday night arrived in Johannesburg in South Africa, to participate in the presidential inauguration ceremony of President Jacob Zuma of South Africa.

Also present were Ms. Hannah Tetteh, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Seth Terkper, Minister for Finance and Ben Dotsei Malor, Head of Communications and Presidential Spokesperson.

The inauguration, which would give President Zuma his second five-year tenure of office was also attended by 4,500 Presidents, Vice Presidents, Heads of Missions and Foreign Ministers representing their countries from the African continent and beyond, at the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre.

About 20,000 more guests are expected to be at the Union Building of the Presidency in Pretoria to witness the inauguration.

President Mahama is expected to be at the Nelson Mandela Amphitheatre to join colleague presidents in the programme scheduled to begin at 11hours (0900 hours) local time.

President Mahama and his entourage is expected back on Sunday.
