PV Obeng was an intelligent and sociable person – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has expressed grief over the death of Senior Presidential Advisor Paul Victor Obeng, affectionately called PV Obeng.

Paul Victor Obeng died on Saturday, May 17 at the LEKMA Hospital after being taken ill from the Inkoom Hospital in Accra.

Speaking on TV3’s News 360, a few hours after the announcement of Mr Obeng’s death, Ex-President Kufuor confessed: “I do not know how to react because there wasn’t any sign that he was not well.”

PV Obeng’s death has come as a shock to many as he was last spotted as one of the key participants at the just-ended National Economic Forum in Senchi.

He was the Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, a position he was first appointed to by Former President Kufuor.

“I didn’t agree with his politics anyway, but we related quite well,” Former President Kufuor told TV3’s Kenneth Osei Ampofo.

“He was a very intelligent person and also quite sociable.”
