Interdicted VRA Officials Recalled

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has recalled two of its employees who were interdicted earlier this year. Eric Yankah and Major (rtd) J.B. Gyasi were interdicted for allegedly leaking official documents to the media. This was after the authority and its Chief Executive came under media scrutiny. VRA Chief Executive, Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey said in a statement that all investigations and enquiries into the matter have been terminated with immediate effect. The two officers have subsequently been recalled to the Authority.

But Mr. Yankah has since the interdiction earlier this year been playing the role of Energy Policy Advisor to the Minister. His colleague Major (rtd) J.B. Gyasi is expected to return to the VRA to assume the post of Programming, Monitoring and Evaluation Director in the office of the VRA Chief Executive.

The interdiction of the two was in connection with VRA staff agitation over their welfare benefits, and allegations of mismanagement by the VRA management. The two were alleged to have leaked documents to the news media, causing internal documents and memoranda to become the subject of media discussion and headlines.
