Cocoa Farmers Accuse Govt.

Fianko (Brong Ahafo Region) — Some cocoa farmers are complaining about the refusal of government to pay them bonuses as promised last August.

Speaking to THE INDEPENDENT at Fianko in the Brong Ahafo Region, the 1993 National Best Farmer, Nana Yaw Barimah Suadwa, said though the 2002/2003 cocoa season is here, the bonuses for the previous season is yet to be paid to them.

Nana Suadwa who spoke on many issues affecting the cocoa sector, called on government to fulfill its promise to cocoa farmers.
