Poly HND Grading System Reviewed

The grading system, which has been one of the three major grievances of Higher National Diploma (HND) students in Polytechnics in the country, has been reviewed.

Under the new system, 85 to 100 marks will be graded A+, and below 55 to 59, D+.

Under the previous system, grade A+ was for 90 to 100 marks and 50 to 59 was graded D.

Mr. Salifu Seidu, Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), announced these at the matriculation ceremony of the Tamale Polytechnic.

He said that two separate committees instituted by the Education Ministry had almost finished with the other two issues of academic progression of HND holders and staff development of the polytechnics.

He therefore urged the Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students (GNUPS) to restrain its members from disturbing the academic calendar.
