RE: Ghana to lose over $600 million due To falling gold prices

The Minerals Commission’s attention has been drawn to media publication predicting that Ghana will lose 500,000 ounces of gold or $600 million in revenue due to falling gold prices this year.

The publication which was attributed to an Assistant Manager at the Minerals Commission is not the official position of the Commission.

The Commission’s checks revealed that, the predictions cited in the publication were aspects of the said officer’s private conversations.

The Minerals Commission therefore distances itself from the said publication.
