The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Congress in Tamale has created businesses in the Metropolis as some persons have taken advantage of it and selling party paraphernalia.
A lot of people, mostly women thronged Tamale Sports Stadium with various paraphernalia including ‘T’ shirts of the various contestants, NPP flags, headgears, bangles, hats and other party materials that are attractive to members.
The Metropolis is also awash with paraphernalia at various selling points especially at the party’s regional office and at the Tamale Sports Stadium with supporters making their choices from variety of items, which include caps, vuvuzallas, T-shirts and umbrellas.
Akosua Akiee, a trader from Accra with various NPP branded items, said she had made a lot of sales since her arrival in Tamale last Tuesday.
She said she makes between GH¢300 to GH¢400 daily and expressed the hope that business would improve on Saturday.
Atika Salis, another trader from Kumasi, said even though she had not made enough sales since she arrived in Tamale on Monday, her expectations were high.
Iddrisu Ziblim who was sells smocks said the NPP branded smocks are the most marketable items, which many people are patronising.
