Gov’t can’t eradicate corruption – Ade Coker

Greater Accra Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker says government cannot stamp out corruption in the country.

According to him, corruption is like “prostitution” and it has been festering on despite efforts by successive governments to curb the situation.

Speaking on “Adekye Nsroma” on U TV, Ade Coker explained to host Tweneboah Koduah that ridding the nation of any corruptible practices call for collective hands. He expounded that, corruption cannot be entirely brought to an end, but government can minimize its adverse effects.

To him, it behoves all Ghanaians, political figures and the leaders of the nation to fight against this canker as part of measures to boost the progress of the economy.

“How do we kill that corruption? Corruption is like Prostitution. It cannot be stopped. What you can do is to reduce it…All of us should come together as a nation and agree on how we should move this country forward. No one person can do it…“Why don’t we come together and stop criticizing ourselves, scoring cheap political points and move this country forward?” He said.
