Municipal Status for Kasoa in the near future

The Government has plans to elevate Kasoa, in the Central Region to a Municipality, Mr Isaac Edumadze, said on Friday. He said in view of the growing population of the town, the government is thinking that it should be separated from Effutu-Awutu District Assembly to facilitate effective management.

Mr Edumadze said this when he addressed Muslims to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations at Kasoa where he made a personal donation of 500,000 cedis to the Muslims towards the organisation of the event.

He said a proposed dual carriage road from Kasoa to Yamoransa has been awarded on contract and that work would commence this month.

He said pipelines were being laid to extend pipe-borne water to the people of Kasoa.

Mr Edumadze said the government was doing its best out of the worse situation, and for that matter, Ghanaians should bear with the President because he would live up to expectation to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He said by not pursuing the IFC loan, the government has demonstrated its sincerity and transparency in all what it does.

He commended the people for their hard work, which has contributed to peace in the region, adding, “my doors are open for anybody, who want to lodge a complaint, for solution”.

Mr Edumadze said the nation cherishes freedom of worship, for that reason everybody has the right of association.

“This means that no one should disregard others’ religion”, he said.

Alhaji Osmanu Abdulai, the Immam led the congregation in prayers asking God’s blessings for the nation and the government.
