Constitution Review Committee to educate Journalists

The Constitution Review Implementation Committee (CRIC) will school core group of journalists to assist the body to sensitise the public as it prepares for a referendum on the entrenched provisions of the 1992 Constitution.

The Committee will also use the media interaction platform slated for April 9, to build the capacity of the journalists on some of the key proposed amendments to the entrenched provisions of the Constitution, Professor Emmanuel. V. O. Dankwa, CRIC Chairman made this known in a statement copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday.

The statement said the media encounter would also offer journalists an opportunity to delve into the operations of the CRIC.

The CRIC explained that following submission of the report of the Constitution Review Commission, the government published a White Paper in which it accepted most of the recommendations of the Commission.

“The Government subsequently set-up a five member implementation committee to facilitate the passage of the bill, and amendment of the non-entrenched provision,” the statement said.
