9 remanded over murder of 3 people in Jomoro

The Half Assini District Magistrate Court has remanded nine people over the murder of three people at three communities in the Jomoro district between February 15 and 19 this year.

They are Ndah Menlah, a herbalist from Nuba near Mpataba, Isaac Buah, Francis Cobbinah, Ernest Baah and Frank Cobbinah all drivers from Tikobo No. One.

The rest were Nicholas Arize, from Tikobo Number One, James Eti Honlah and Nyanzu Amihere Ackah, both from Ekpu near Half Assini.

Their pleas were not taken and the court remanded them in police and prisons custodies to reappear on March 31 this year.

Police Chief Inspector Emmanuel O., Kumi, the state prosecutor, told the court presided over by Mr Hans Kofi Kpogo that Ndah Menlah was remanded in prison custody over the murder of Mr Patrick Gyeni Azane of Nuba on February 15 2014.

James Eti Honlah and Amihere Ackah were remanded in prison custody over the gruesome murder of a pregnant woman, Madam Kaku Ackah Manyah of Ekpu near Half Assini on February 18 2014.

Isaac Buah, Francis Cobbinah, Ernest Baah, Frank Cobbinah and Nicholas Arize were remanded in police custody over the murder of a farmer, one Mr Acheampong at Tikobo No. one on February 19 2014.
