GBL assists Peki and Hohoe

GHANA BREWERIES Limited (GBL) has presented a cash donation to the Peki and Hohoe traditional area in the Volta Region for a number of development projects.

The undisclosed amount formed part of a sponsorship package for this year?s joint Gbidukor festival for the chiefs and people of the two areas. Other items included assorted GBL products, branded T-shirts and publicity for the festival.

The package was presented by Mr. Patrick Awotwe, GBL Accounts Manager for Greater Accra, and received by the Paramount Queenmother of the Peki traditional area, Mamaga Amoga Kofi Bra I.

The Queenmother noted that the year?s Gbidukorza to be celebrated at Peki will also mark the 40th anniversary of the enstoolment of the late paramount chief of Peki, Deiga Kodzo Dei XI.

The theme of the festival will be ?Building Entreprenueral Initiatives through Education.?

Highlights include an exhibition on tourist ideas and potentials in the Peki/Hohoe areas, a grand durbar of chiefs on Sunday, December 7, and a state dance in the evening of the same day.

Other activities in the week include sports and games in Gbidukor towns, general clean-up, town meetings and sitting in state of Deiga Kodzo Dei XI to receive homage (Thursday, December 5, 2002).

Others at the sponsorship package presentation function included Togbe Adzima V, divisional chief of Gbi Abansi, Togbe Keh-Twum IV, Benkumhene of Peki Traditional Area and Mr. Ekow Blankson, GBL promotions manager.
