Akufo-Addo declares political future today

Two-time Presidential Candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo will end speculations about his political future today.

The former Attorney General will announce whether he intends running for president again on the ticket of his party at a press conference scheduled for his Nima residence at 10am.

He had earlier told visiting party executives of the Upper East region that he will work closely with them if things went right for him in connection with running for the leadership position.

Nana Akufo-Addo went on a six-month political hiatus after the prolonged election petition case in which the Supreme Court upheld President John Mahama’s victory against him.

He said he needed to seek the face of God in determining his future in politics. He set Thursday March 20, 2014 to make that announcement after his return from the UK where he had been vacationing.
