Statement: Tamale still venue for NPP national congress

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stressed that its venue for the April 12 national delegates’ conference has not changed.

“Tamale Sports Stadium remains the venue for the conference,” a statement from the Party on Friday, March 14 said.

Recent disturbances in Tamale has been of concern to some party members especially the Director of Elections, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, who told TV3’s Bright Nana Amfoh last Wednesday that the Party is following events in the Northern region capital keenly.

He, however, said: “We believe in the work of the police and total security [agencies] that this will be brought under control.”

The statement signed by Perry Okudzeto, acting Director of Communications, urged Party members to disregard any reports of a venue change.
