KATH finds 2 of 5 ‘missing’ stillborn babies

Two of five missing bodies of alleged stillborn babies have been discovered by authorities of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

The bodies, according to XYZ News’ Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice, were found at the hospital’s mortuary.

It is however not clear if Suwaiba Abdul Mumim’s baby is one of the two bodies found.

Friends and relatives of Suwaiba stormed the hospital a few weeks ago to demand the body of her alleged stillborn baby. They assaulted some Doctors and Nurses in the process.

The health workers went on strike over the assault but resumed work upon security assurances from the Police and the Regional Coordinating Council.

Health Minister Sherry Ayittey recently gave the hospital a two-week ultimatum to produce the body of Suwaiba’s alleged stillborn baby as well as bodies of four other babies which got missing under similar mysterious circumstances.
