University curricula to suit industry demands

Minister of Education, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, has announced that government will engage education and industry stakeholders in order to streamline tertiary curricula to meet the workforce demands of the country.

The Minister is worried about the rate of graduate unemployment in Ghana but expressed the conviction that engaging industry players will enable educational sector streamline academic programmes to churn out the right human resources.

Prof Opoku Agyemang was addressing students of the University of Education in Winneba on Friday, February 28.

The Minister hinted that a stakeholders’ conference is scheduled to be held in the middle of this year to put this conception into perspective.
