PRESS RELEASE

REPORT ON PETITIONS TO THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
GENERAL
1. The National Elections Committee (NEC) having heard the petitioners and respondents case has come to the conclusion that the laid down procedures and rules were not followed and as a result, people were deliberately disenfranchised in elections purported to have taken place. Accordingly, the National Elections Committee (NEC) has directed that the Polling Station, Electoral Area Coordinators and Constituency elections at the following Constituencies must be re-run.
a. Okaikoi South
b. Okaikoi North.
c. Krowor
d. Juaben
e. Manhyia North

Ejisu
In the case of Ejisu, the Album prepared by the Ashanti Regional Party will be used to conduct the Constituency election.

2. DIRECTIVES
All elections will be conducted in line with existing electoral guidelines especially the following;
I. Polling Station registers to be prepared
II. New Polling Station elections to be conducted
III. New Album to be prepared
IV. Constituency elections to be conducted.
V. No Parliamentary Candidates/MP’s must be involved.

3. REGIONAL NASARA ELECTIONS IN ASHANTI & WESTERN REGIONS
The Committee decided that the Regional NASARA Elections in Ashanti and Western Regions should be re-run to comply with the Convention of only Constituency Nasara Coordinators used in conducting the elections in the other eight Regions.

4. All elections will be organized under the supervision of National Elections Committee.

5. All elections are to be completed by the 21st March 2014 with New Constituency Executives dully sworn in to enable them participate in the April 12 National Delegates Conference in Tamale.
