Supporting Akufo-Addo or Kyeremanten is not wrong – Fred Oware

As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for its national delegates congress, the rivalry between Alan Kyerematen and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is hotting up by the day.

Many believe some incumbent national executives of the party are fully behind the 2008 and 2012 presidential candidate (Nana Addo), preferring that he leads the party again in the December 2016 presidential polls.

But Chairman Aspirant of the main opposition NPP, Fred Oware, has categorically stated that supporting any of the yet-to-aspire presidential candidates is not erroneous.

To him, as far as the two are staunch NPP members, anyone chosen to lead the party in 2016 will have the full support from him (Fred Oware) when he is elected as the party’s national chairman.

“Allan is not an NDC man and Nana Addo is also not a member of the NDC, so therefore, there is nothing wrong in supporting any of them. If I am tagged with Nana or Allan, I will gladly accept that…and will not argue. But as a national chairman, your duty is to bring this two together and unite the party,” he said on Asempa FM.
