Fulani menace: MP declares shoot to kill in Agogo

Asante Akyem North Member of Parliament (MP) has backed the decision by the traditional leaders of his Constituency to kill any stray cattles belonging to Fulani herdsmen in the area, especially when the animals trample their farmlands.

According to Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, the police have failed to comply with a court order to evict the Fulani herdsmen from the area.

He has therefore issued a shoot-to-kill fatwa against the cattle.

In an interview with XYZ News, he said his constituents can no longer bear the persistent threats from Fulani herdsmen and their animals.

“The constitution gives the right for people to defend themselves so if the cattles are destroying their farmlands why should they allow them,” the MP added.

Mr. Baah Agyemang also noted that security agencies have failed to offer his constituents the needed protection, thus their resolve to take matters into their own hands.
