Political Activist Dr Sekou Nkrumah says the National Youth Authority (NYA) is a “useless” entity.
Dr Nkrumah has therefore advised the Authority’s acting Coordinator, Ras Mubarak, to tell the government to scrap the NYA.
“…I put up a post [on facebook] in response to one of these posts that ‘look, maybe the best thing that you need to advise government to shut down that agency because it is a useless outfit”, Dr Nkrumah told XYZ Breakfast Show host Moro Awudu on Tuesday.
Dr Nkrumah, who was sacked by late President John Mills as National Youth Coordinator wondered why Mubarak, after five years of his government being in power, is re-inventing the wheel by now touring the country to familiarise himself with issues confronting the development of the youth in Ghana.
“After five years he’s now going round to see the condition? Who has been in government for the last five years, is it not NDC? Is it not again a reflection of how confused the government is?”
Mubarak was made acting Coordinator of the NYA barely two months ago.
