Nkabom to raise funds for a village with Feb. 2 Yarraville dance event

A dance event will be staged at Kindred Studios on February 2 to raise money for those living in Dawurampong, a village in Ghana.

Not-for-profit organisation Nkabom provides youths with access to education and training while spreading messages of tolerance and understanding through dance.

Event planner Meagan Otu said the organisation started as a way to keep the arts and heritage alive.

But she said due to the high unemployment, it soon evolved towards making the community self-sufficient.

The fundraiser features Asanti Dance Theatre and an Azonto workshop from 3-6pm.
