NPP’s reaction to Rawlings is a diversionary tactic

A friend of the Rawlingses Muhammed Naziru has described as diversionary, the opposition NPP’s reaction to former president Rawlings’ stance against corruption in the country.

He was responding to a statement issued by the NPP criticizing Mr. Rawlings for his recent tirade against former President Kufuor concerning corruption.

The NPP in the statement accused Mr. Rawlings of lacking the moral right to criticize his successor since his hands are tainted with blood from the coups he led in the past.

But speaking to XYZ News, Naziru said the statement by the NPP is only an attempt to dissuade attention of Ghanaians from the substance of the speech delivered by Mr. Rawlings.

Meanwhile, a member of the New Patriotic Party, Paul Afoko, however says Mr. Rawlings’ self-righteousness is becoming nauseating.

“Kufuor institutionalized corruption? Please why don’t we look at the facts? Who is the President that brought about the Procurement Act” Mr Paul Afoko said adding that…”before the Procurement act all major capital contracts running into millions of dollars were awarded at the castle and we know this”.
