I’m all for open media interactions – Mahama

President John Mahama says he is looking forward to “a good interaction with the media today” as he meets Journalists to answer a litany of questions concerning his first year in Office.

He wrote on his facebook page that: “Such interactions promote openness and accountability and I am all for it”.

This is the first time President Mahama will subject himself to thorough drilling by critical minds of Ghanaian media houses.

The President is expected to answer questions relating to the sale of Merchant Bank to Fortiz Equity Fund and how successful his first year as President has been.

The press conference will start at 11am and will be live on Radio XYZ.

A release from the Presidency stated that only accredited journalists will be admitted. It added that all accredited journalists must be seated by 10.30am.

The statement also stated that all accredited journalists are required to carry along a relevant ID for identification purposes at the Flagstaff House security gate adding that Mobile phones will not be allowed in the press conference hall.
