President Does Not Have Cancer

The Ministry of Information has dismissed emerging allegations that President Kufuor has prostrate cancer and that he has been undergoing treatment in London. Special Assistant to Minister of Information, Ferdinand Ayim says his investigations has shown that the kind of treatment required for prostrate cancer require the patient to stay in hospital for extended periods of time.

?Clearly, the time needed for the treatment of prostrate cancer cannot fit into the President?s schedule,? he said.

Mr Ayim was reacting to reports that the President has been stopping over in London for regular check ups concerning a serious ailment. Asked if indeed the President has been going for check-ups in London, Mr Ayim intimated that even if he does, it is no big deal. ?Of course whenever I am in London or I travel outside, I take the opportunity to go for a check-up myself?, he added.
