Akim Awisa installs Akwamuhene

The elders of Akim Awisa have installed Nana Yaw Sarkodie Aboagye as the Akwamuhene, a sub-chief of Akyem Kotoko Traditional Area.

His stool name is Nana Yaw Twum Barima Sarkodie III and succeeds the late Nana Dabo Ahenkorah, who passed away on June 2, 2004.

Nana Kwarteng Karikari III, Chief of Akim Awisa, and his elders performed the swearing-in ceremony.

Giving his life history, Nana Barima Sarkodie said he is the second born out of six of his parents and a father of four.

According to him, he started his education at Akim Awisa Primary School, proceeded to the Mfantsipim Boys Secondary School, and continued at the Institute of Management Studies to become an Assistant Executive Director at the National Service Secretariat.

Currently, he is the Assistant Executive Chairman of Jospong Zoomlion Company.

Chiefs and elders from different traditional areas graced the occasion.
