Afotey-Agbo tells prisoners to reform

Mr Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, the Volta Regional Minister, on Tuesday appealed to inmates of the Ho Prisons to allow the goodness of Christ to affect their lives.

He said this would enable them to be transformed and come out of confinement to open a new chapter in their lives.

Mr Afotey-Agbo was in the Prisons to redeem a pledge of a bull, bags of rice and condiments for the celebration of the Christmas.

He made the pledge a month ago while on a familiarization tour of that Correctional Institution.

“It is never too late to change,” Mr Afotey-Agbo said and that the tidings of Christmas should impress on the inmates to reform.

“If you fall, you don’t stay there, you get up and move on,” the Regional Minister said.

“I want you all to give a deep thought to Christ’s message and try to be as he (Christ) was, selfless, clean, loving and straightforward so that when you are discharged from this place you would never return,” Mr Afotey-Agbo said.

The minister also gave the Prison authorities Ghc 400.00, which he said should be used to buy soft drinks for the inmates.

Mr Isaac Boakye, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons, received the items on behalf of the institution and inmates.
