Fire outbreak won’t disrupt Sole Commissioner’s work – PRO

The Public Relations Officer for the judgment debt commission, William Dove has told XYZ News that the fire that gutted the old parliament house which housed the activities of the Judgment debt commission will not hinder the progress of the commissioner’s work.

Parts of the old parliament House got engulfed by fire Thursday dawn.

The fire started around 4am and affected the Sole Commissioner’s office.

Additionally, some properties in the Commissioner’s office were decimated by the blaze.

The old parliament edifice opposite the Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum along the Accra High Street also houses the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

CHRAJ’s Finance, PR and Research departments have also been affected.

But speaking on XYZ News’ Strict Proof, William Dove said the Commission has a backup of all files that might have been destroyed in the fire.

He added that the commission will now find a temporal venue for their sittings.
