Malaysian High Commission donates to school

The Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) has donated an electric generator to the Answaru-Deen Islamic School at Fadama in Accra.

The school is under the care of the National Chief Imam, Shiek Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu.

Mr Ma’Amor Ibrahim, Director In-Charge of the MTCP at the Malaysia High Commission, said the development of every country depended on the quality of its human and capital resources.

He said the MTCP was established to emphasize on human resource development, mainly through training, short-term courses in public and private Malaysian training institutions and long-term courses in Universities.

Mr Ibrahim said since the inception of the MTCP, more than 26,000 participants from 139 countries had been directly trained in 10 key areas, including Agriculture, Economics, Finance and Trade, Environment, Industrial Technical Training, Diplomacy, Management and Public Administration, Professional and Service, Social Development, Science and Technology and ICT Management.

He said the MTCP would also concentrate on 11 key sub-areas and this also include Oil and Gas, Product and Services, Small and Medium Enterprises, Palm Oil Industry, Food and Beverages, Halal Economy and Ecosystems, Islamic Finance, Education, Construction, Health Services and Governance.

Mr Ibrahim said the Malaysian effort through the MTCP was recently awarded by United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Office in recognition of its outstanding contribution towards the MDGs, which has inspired the Malaysian Government.
