Zoomlion workers urged to be committed

Emmanuel Volsuuri, Northern Regional Manager of Zoomlion, has advised staff of the company especially those engaged in the waste and sanitation sector to be very committed to their duties to keep the country clean.

He said it was only through good sanitation that the country could reduce the various infectious diseases and urged the public to corroborate the work of the organization by keeping their surroundings clean and avoid open defecation.

Mr Volsuuri said these during the climax of the regional prayer and thanksgiving service in Tamale on Friday organized by the company to thank and praise God for a successive year and prayed for protection for the successive years.

Mr Volsuuri advised the general public to change their attitude in waste disposal and urged metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to enforce bye-laws on sanitation to ensure a clean environment.

He said the companies continued to chalk successes and mentioned the commencement of the African Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management in collaboration with KNUST and a plastic recycling project as the two achievable landmarks for the year.

Mr Volsuuri announced that very soon a recycling factory would be set up in the Northern Region to collect plastic waste and thus create employment opportunities.

Alhaji Mohammed Amino, Northern Regional Coordinator of the Ghana Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) advised the staff against sabotaging the company since that was their source of livelihood.
