Samanguru Slated For November 8

THE ALLIANCE Francaise, in collaboration with the famous Awareness Theatre International Group, will present “Sumanguru”, the PANAFEST contest-winning historical play by Chris Pappoe, on Friday, November 8.

“Sumanguru” is a historical piece that takes the mind back to the people of Sosso, Ghana, and the Sudan, alongside important events that occurred at that time.

King Sumanguru, ruler of Sosso, was feared because of his achievements as a warrior, and his name had spread far and wide as a fearsome and respectable king, throughout the region.

He had only one beautiful daughter who was kind and very much liked by all.

Fatima, who was given custody of the hostage princess of Ghana stayed with the princess like her own sister, because she recognised the royal blood in her and finally helped her to escape.

To get the full picture of the story, just pay a visit to Alliance Francaise to watch the play.

The play is co-directed by Oman Hunter, Shine Gaveh, Emmanuel Tetteh and Silas Hibbert Snr.
