Mahama’s market fire revelation vindicates us – Minority

Minority lawmakers say they feel vindicated following President Mahama’s disclosure of the actual cause of recent fire outbreaks in some markets in the country.

He told a section of market women from Makola who called on him on Tuesday that the fire outbreaks at Makola Market were caused by illegal electrical connections.

He however noted that investigations into other fire outbreaks were inconclusive.

These were the findings of the US forensic team that visited the country months ago to investigate the fire outbreaks.

Earlier the Presidency had insinuated that the spate of the fires could possibly be as a result of arson attack.

But that was rejected by some minority lawmakers including Yaw Frimpong of Manso Edubia.

Speaking in an interview with XYZ News, Mr Yaw Frimpong said the findings of the forensic team vindicate those who were critical of the President’s posture in the wake of the fire outbreaks.
