A 27-year-old welder found dead in Sunyani

The police have deposited the body of Akwasi Obeng, 27-year-old welder found dead on Thursday morning near the SSNIT Flats at Nkwabeng in Sunyani suburb at the Sunyani Regional Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

Police Superintendent Samuel Yankey, Sunyani Municipal Police Commander briefing the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani on Friday said Obeng had not been attending work regularly.

He said the deceased lived with his father, Mr James Kwabena Akoto 70, and a brother at Ziga Junction, near Nkwabeng, but had not been seen for about three days until his death.

Superintendent Yankey said at the crime scene “We saw that there were marks of violence on the body, as if he has been beaten. It appeared the corpse was dragged from somewhere and deposited at where it was found”.
