Legislators attend post budget review workshop

Members of Parliament (MP) on Sunday began a two-day post budget review workshop in the Chamber of Parliament.

The workshop is on the theme:” Retooling MPs for Effective Scrutiny of 2014 Financial Policy of Government.”

The 275 members are expected to discuss issues on the policy framework of the 2014 budget, macro-economic and fiscal management, analysing sector budget-what to consider, agriculture and productivity-strategic interventions, the 2014 budget and education sector, employment generation-strategy interventions.

Other topics to be discussed include achieving budgetary outcomes for programme in the fifth sector, decentralisation-2014 budget and composite budgeting.
