RE: Shortage of Snake Venom Anti-Serum

The Ministry of Health’s attention has been drawn to media publication about alleged shortages of Snake Venom Anti-Serum at some health facilities especially in the Greater Accra Region.

We will like to assure the public that there is enough Snake Venom Anti-Serum at the Central, Regional and District health facilities throughout the country. Treatment for snake bite is at no cost to patients who attend public health facilities.

Above notwithstanding, we wish to thank the media for raising the issues. We will investigate the reasons behind the alleged shortages in those health facilities mentioned for redress.
