Akufo-Addo congratulates Black Stars

Opposition Leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sent his congratulatory message to the Black Stars for booking their ticket to the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil.

Nana Addo also extended his wishes to “all Ghanaians for rallying behind the team”.

Immediately the referee’s whistle went for the end of the match, the 2008 and 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) tweeted: “Congratulations to the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2014 World Cup, and to all Ghanaians for rallying behind the team. #Brazil2014”

He expressed confidence in the team just before kick-off but could not hide his emotions when the Black Stars went down.

“Oh!” was one of his tweets.

“Come on lads. Let’s seal the deal. #Brazil2014 is so close. #Ghana #BlackStars,” he tweeted apparently to motivate the team.

A Kevin-Prince Boateng goal in the 89th minute of the payoff put the aggregate score at 7-3 in favour of the Black Stars, who join Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon and Algeria as Africa’s representatives for the topmost international football tournament.
