I was sentenced to death on my Birthday – Victoria Hammah’s dad laments

If there is one man who has experienced the trauma of being condemned to death on a merry day meant for celebration and thanksgiving, then Victoria Hammah’s father comes to mind.

It is rather unfortunate this chilling story comes out at a time when the former Deputy Minister of Communication has lost her post. But there are many lessons to be learnt and Mr. John Alex Hammah, who is the father of Ms. Hammah, tells us that his ordeal has made him a “man of peace” and for this reason has developed “divine shock absorbers”.

Although he refused to mention the exact thing he did which nearly drew him to his grave, a vibrant Alex Hammah told listeners of Okay FM that the Ghana Army sentenced him to death by firing squad on his birthday.

Out of that experience, Mr. Hammah reveals that he has written a book titled “Too Young To Die, My Ordeal In Nsawam Condemned Cells” and would urge all who want to know more about him to buy a copy and read.

It is on this note that we wish to urge Ms. Victoria Hammah to be strong in this trial times and bear in mind that if her own father has escaped silver bullets in the past, she has to be calm when things fall apart.
