Officers advised to maintain discipline of Forces

Naval Captain Eric Adu, Commanding Operating Officer of the Ghana Navy on Friday entreated Young Officers of the Navy, Armed Forces and Airforce to be honest, disciplined and hard working to promote the development of the country.

He also urged them to be loyal to the customs, values and traditions of the service as it was the only means of promoting the long standing image of the Forces.

Naval Captain Adu said this at the end of a week-long Young Officers Course, organized by the Ghana Navy, under the Theme: Optimizing Professionalism- A Key to improving Efficiency in Ghana Navy.

The Course convention was to help the young officers to be abreast with the operations of the Ghana Navy, current trends in the Oil and gas sector and explore other avenues to enhance efficiency in the service.

The Participants were taken through topics such as the Role of the Ghana Navy in Security management of the Jubilee oil field, Current Naval Training Policies for Young Officers, financial management, stress management, developing trends in the offshore reserve and the Naval Officer and the Media.

Commander Eric Osei, Commanding Officer, Navy Trade Training School, said the 2013 course convention brought together personnel from the Navy, Army and the Airforce to discuss issues on personal development to enhance their professional competence.
