Kintampo South district collects more

The Kintampo South district assembly collected over 81 thousand Ghana cedis representing over 88 percent of the expected revenue of 92 thousand Ghana cedis last year. The district chief executive Kwadwo Nyame Datiakwa disclosed this at the second ordinary meeting of the third session of the assembly at Jema. He described the efforts of the assembly as encouraging, adding that there is more room for improvement.

On security, Mr Datiakwa said with the combined efforts of security agents, incidents of highway robberies have declined considerably. He was however not happy with chieftancy disputes in the district especially the Jema – Krabonso dispute, and prayed that sanity will prevail for the two factions to smoke the peace pipe.

On education, he said the assembly has set aside some funds to sponsor students to colleges of health and education as well as senior high schools. Mr Datiakwa was happy at the performance of pupils in the district in the just released B E C E results. He said the district scored over 80 percent as against 64 percent of last year.
