NDC reacts to Nana Nketsia’s “vampire” comment

The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned traditional leaders against utterances that he claimed could create tension in the country.

According to Yaw Boateng Gyan, Chiefs must refrain from commenting on sensitive national interest issues.

His caution is in response to the description of Ghanaian politicians as vampires who are milking the state dry by the Omanhene of Essikado Traditional Area, Nana Kobina Nketsia V.

The chief asked Ghanaians to desist from wallowing in needless political fights in defence of politicians who take undue advantage of their loyalty.

“We pay them, we elect them to serve us and they come and sit on us. And you are busy dividing yourself into NDC and NPP, for what? I am a Vandal and a Ghanaian and it matters much more than all these things that are going on,” Nana Kobina Nketsia V said.

But speaking to XYZ News in an interview, Mr. Boateng Gyan, stated that the Esikado Chief should have chosen his words more carefully.

He described Nana Kobina Nketsia’s attack on all politicians as unfortunate saying that there are decent politicians in the country who deserve praise and not condemnation.
