Italian killed in cold blood at Amasaman

An Italian believed to be in her sixties has been brutally killed in cold blood at Damas 2 Estate, Kuntunase, close to the DVLA testing office near Amasaman in the Ga West District of Accra.

The woman, whose name was given as Bellunator Egle, was stabbed several times in the neck by her assailants around 9:30am Tuesday morning.

An eyewitness at the scene told Daily Guide that the deceased lived with her partner whose name was given as Saradura Lucci at their self-contained apartment at the estate.

“Egle has been in Ghana for the past five years with her partner and both are into charity work,” the source said.

The eyewitness said on that fateful day, the partner, who is also an Italian, left the house around 9:00am to town in order to purchase some necessaries for the couple’s use.

On his return around 10:45am, he saw the door to the house had been left ajar and his partner lying in a pool of blood on the floor with their clothings and other valuables tossed hither and thither.

While some residents believed a close pal of the couple might have committed the act, others said it was the work of armed robbers.

The police are yet to uncover the mystery behind Egle’s death, according to the eyewitness.

The matter has been referred to the homicide unit of the Ghana Police Service for investigations.
