Mr Kartey Otumi, Hohoe Divisional Police Crime Officer said the suspect, who is married to a Ghanaian had cultivated more than two acres of the substance ostensibly for export.

He said a search was conducted and the taskforce retrieved two sacks of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp from the suspect, leading to his arrest and arraignment.

The consignment has been sent for forensic examination while the suspect reappears in court again on October 15.
