NDC gov’t slapped Ghanaians double from behind – Sammy Awuku

A former Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) claims the current economic hardship that seems to have gotten this nation in a choke-hold, is terrifying to everyone.

Sammy Awuku is of the view that, the Mahama-led administration has left many Ghanaians scared beyond words. Perhaps for many, stress and anxiety have become their companions, he opines.

Speaking on Asempa FM, Sammy Awuku accused the Mahama-led administration of being “heartless”, describing the recent tax, levies and tariff increment by the incumbent government as a “Double Slap” from behind.

“…they (NDC) are not even considering the less-privileged who they lured to vote for them for a Better Ghana…Even those poor farmers in the villages can’t afford protective boots…because of some of these taxes…even cutlasses are expensive now…Increment in electricity and water tariffs are also unbearable. We have been double slapped at a go,” he said.

He continued; “…The hardship in Ghana now is intolerable. Now we don’t need professors to tell us Ghanaians are suffering. Securing loans to pay school fees is another miserable thing. The education system under this government too is bad. I cannot trust this government one bit,” he stated.

To him, the current administration has done “zero” to sustain Ghana’s economy.

“These are very terrible and turbulent times. Whiles we are praying for the betterment of this nation, our president (John Mahama) is modeling globally and posing for pictures. This is serious,” he said
