Rawlings To Address World Body

Former President J.J. Rawlings will be the Keynote Speaker on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the annual Conference of the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (WANGO). This year’s event will be held in Washington, DC from October 18-20, with the theme “Culture of Responsibility and the Role of NGOs.” It will deal with issues of fundamental import for the international NGO community.

WANGO is one of the foremost international membership organizations for NGOs dedicated to world peace, families, and global well being. WANGO is non-partisan, non-sectarian association to provide NGOs the mechanism and support needed to connect, partner, share, and multiply their contribution to solve humanity’s basic problems.

The Annual Conference creates a unique crossroads for representatives of NGOs, academic institutions, governmental and intergovernmental agencies, to meet, share innovative ideas and practices, and build strategic partnerships that can help NGOs better fulfill their missions.

NGO representatives from more than 60 nations and prominent leaders with interest in helping NGOs accomplish their vital tasks will attend as well.
