Needy school children receive support

Needy school children at Atia, a predominantly farming community in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality have been presented with learning materials worth hundreds of cedis.

These include 650 exercise and note books, 110 pens, 150 pencils, 30 mathematical sets, 60 rulers and erasers.

It was a donation from the Fountain of Youth and Children (FYC), a local non-governmental organization (NGO).

Presenting the items, Mr. Akwasi Afram Onua-Offen, the Founder, who is also a teacher at Atia Methodist Primary School, said his organization was touched by the plight of the pupils.

It was their contribution towards assisting to bring some relief and give hope to the children, adding that, they would continue to stand with them every step of the way.

The beneficiaries were selected by their class-teachers and are made up of the academically brilliant from poor homes and orphans.

Mr. Adjen Frimpong, Municipal Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), commended the NGO for the gesture and advised the pupils to be inspired by the gifts to study hard.
