Adjaho’s presidency ends as Mahama returns home

President John Mahama has returned home from his trip to Mali.

He returned Thursday night, bringing to an end, Speaker Edward Doe Adjaho’s acting presidency.

Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood swore in Mr. Doe Adjaho on Thursday as acting President as prescribed by the 1992 Constitution in the event that both the President and the Vice President are outside the jurisdiction of the country.

President Mahama was in Mali on Thursday to join his colleague African and world leaders for the investiture of newly elected President of Mali Aboubacar Keita.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur is also in the UK on official assignment.
