Doe-Adjaho sworn in as President of Ghana

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe -Adjaho is now acting as President of the Republic of Ghana.

Mr. Doe-Adjaho was sworn in by the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood on Thursday, September 19, 2013.

This follows the departure of President Mahama to attend the investiture of the newly elected Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, who should have stepped in as the interim President, has also traveled to the UK on an official assignment.
