Okwahu Omanhene celebrates 80th birthday

The chiefs and people of the Kwahu Traditional Area have held a durbar to mark the 80th birthday of Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng II, the Kwahu Omanhene, at his palace at Abene.

The durbar also marked his 42 years enstoolment.

Chiefs and citizens from the various communities in the area including District Chief Executives for Kwahu South, Kwahu East and Kwahu Afram Plains South and other government officials assembled at the palace to wish him well.

The Chief was born on 11 August 1933 at Abene, had his Basic Education at Nkwatia Government School before attending Prempeh College for his Secondary Education.

He went to the University of Ghana, Legon, and the Ghana Law School and was enstooled in 1971.

Addressing the durbar on behalf of the Omanhene, the Adontenhene of the Traditional Area, Nana Asiedu Agyemang III, commended the chiefs and people of the area for their cooperation and support for Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng during his 42 years reign, which had ensured peace and development.
