Presbyterian Church consecrates 25 catechists

The Nsaba Presbyterian National Lay Training Center has consecrated 25 catechists at the Central Presbytery of the Church at Agona Nsaba in the Central region.

The catechists, who came from Central Ga, West Akyem and Akyem Abuakwa, completed a 16-month training.

Delivering the sermon to mark the occasion, the Reverend Dr Kwame Amoah-Kuma, Chairman of the West Akyem Presbytery of the Church, charged the catechists to obey the word of God, refrain from arrogance and win more souls for Christ.

On the 2012 election petition before the Supreme Court, Rev Dr Amoah-Kuma appealed to the Justices handling the case to deliver the verdict without fear or favour and in the interest of peace.

He also appealed to leaders and supporters of the country’s main parties, National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party, involved in the case, to accept the verdict of the Court to promote peace in the country.

Rev S.E. Ampiaw, Chairman Central Presbytery, appealed to the General Assembly of the Church to undertake infrastructure development at Nsaba Lay Training Centre.

Rev. Kofi Yeboah, National Director of the Lay Training Center, said the Center which was abandoned, was revived in 1996 during the period of Rev H. Ahorble, former Chairman of Central Presbytery.

The Center was established by the Church to provide quality lay education to leaders and members of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

He appealed to individuals and groups to assist the Centre to build dormitories, bungalow and classrooms.
