Abekoase Community gets water treatment plant

To avert the persistent reliance and use of unsafe water that some communities endure in the Prestea/Huni Valley District, P2 Water Company Limited has provided the Abekoase Community with water treatment plant.

Inaugurating the facility at Abekoase, Mr Raavor Divur, Chief Executive Officer of P2 Water Company Limited, said the facility would provide 2,500 gallons of water per hour to the people.

He said the company suggested its operations to Goldfields Ghana Limited (GGL)- Tarkwa Mine, to implement the project in one of its catchment communities to improve the health and livelihood of the people.

Mr Divur expressed gratitude to the GGLTarkwa Mine, the chief and people of Abekoase for their support, and said the community should endeavour to maintain the facility.

He said the company would continue to execute more projects to improve the living condition of Ghanaians.

Mr Mubashiru Dari, Community Affairs and Public Relations Officer of GGL, Tarkwa Mine, said the company had spent 300,000 Ghana cedis on water projects in nine communities in the area.

He asked the community to generate funds for the maintenance of the facility, as well as development projects.

Mr Kwame Adentum, Abusuapanin of Abekoase, who received the keys to the facility, thanked P2 Water Company Limited and GGL, Tarkwa Mine, for the gesture.
