Ghana must stay united – Nasara Club

The leadership and supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been urged to ensure that reason and calm prevails after the Supreme Court’s judgement.

They should be mindful of their responsibility to themselves and posterity to keep the nation united and stable.

Alhaji Ali Musah Zingi, Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the NPP Nasara Club, said it is important for all to put the country ahead of parochial political interests and convenience.

He was speaking at a day’s prayer and recitation of the Holy Quran event in Kumasi to ask for Allah’s continued blessings and the gift of peace and harmony in the society.

This comes amidst growing anxiety about possible confusion after the Supreme Court gives its ruling on the 2012 election petition.

The gathering, led by Islamic scholars, said special prayers for the Justices, asking for them courage to deliver true justice.

Alhaji Zingi appealed to Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to seek Allah’s protection of the nation saying that “Ghana is not …different from the other countries which slipped into civil wars due to electoral disputes”.
